Cheong Fatt Tze built his Penang home and office around the end of 19th century. Today, it is known as Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion or Blue Mansion. The mansion was constructed in a time where an open influx of west and east cultures influenced lifestyle and architecture, resulting in what is known as the straits eclectic style.
The portrait of this mansion started in mid 2015 and completed in late 2016. The walls were painted in layers of blue wash strokes creating a fluid tonal effect. This painting is an ode to the mansion grand architecture.
