Product Description

Foundations is a companion publication to Michael Lee Hong Hwee's book installation, The Consolations of Museology , which proposes ten hypothetical museums realized as handmade books that provide solace to everyday problems of human existence, such as feelings of inadequacy, being unpopular and suffering a broken heart. Other than the artist's preface, the book also includes text reflections by members of the project team, namely Nadim Abbas (Editing), Lilian Chee (Criticism), Brendan Goh (Design), Tang Kwok Hin (Paper Engineering) han (Photography), Willie Koh (Film). The book has a DVD insert of the project's companion film entitled Hinterlands, which eavesdrop into the conversation of a couple on their final trip on which they encounter the 10 museums of solace.
