Product Description

The groundbreaking artist Robert Rauschenberg (1925–2008) travelled extensively in Asia, driven by his artistic curiosity and constant search for inspiration. These sojourns sparked key developments in his work and catalysed his Rauschenberg Overseas Culture Interchange (ROCI) touring project, which promoted artistic exchange and international peace during the late Cold War. It also had a significant impact on many Asian artists. This book documents the first comprehensive exploration of Rauschenberg’s three-decade engagement with Asia, an aspect of his practice that has received little attention.
